What is the Osmium Consortium ?
Osmium Consortium a not-for-profit organisation based in Dublin, Ireland and Birmingham, UK dedicated to hosting our personal websites on a Linux Server.
The Osmium Consortium was setup in 18th January 2001 by a small group of enthusiasts, who sharea common interest in Linux as a hobby. We are a not-for-profit organisation, everything we do here is done purely for the enjoyment of doing it.
This servers main purpose is to serve our growing need to explore and develop our Linux skills as well as host our personal websites.
The backgrounds of our members are quite varied with members holding positions, such as Software Engineers, Systems Administrators, and Systems Analysts in many top I.T. companies, along with various degrees of experience in Microsoft Operating systems we also have a fair deal of knowledge in other UNIX Operating Systems, e.g. Linux, Solaris, AIX, SCO and DEC UNIX to mention a few.
